St. Mary’s Social Justice Table
St. Mary Catholic Church - Micah 6:8 Social Justice
WHO WE ARE
Our group hopes to inspire others to work together and to imagine a country and a world that treats all people as Children of God. We promote Catholic Social Teaching. Our goal is to build a just society and to demonstrate with our actions God’s divine presence and holiness in spite of the challenges of modern society. We are one human family whatever our national, racial, ethnic, economic, and ideological differences. We are our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers, wherever they may be.
Catholic social teaching is based on, and inseparable from, our understanding of human life and human dignity. Every human being is created in the image of God and redeemed by Jesus Christ and therefore is invaluable and worthy of respect as a member of the human family. Every person has inherent dignity and a right to life consistent with that dignity. Human dignity comes from God, not from any human quality or accomplishment.

WHAT WE DO
What we do includes, but is not limited to, revealing the untold stories of American history, sharing personal stories, and having honest, truthful and respectful dialog. This ministry, rooted in the Gospel and inspired by the Holy Spirit, will strive to offer opportunities that will promote personal transformation and social action. We honor our ancestors and humbly invoke their prayer through this journey.
